In Horncliffe we have lots of gardeners who grow lots of vegetables.
Moira Kay, and Nicola And Peter Coulter (The Hare In Winter) decided to set up a vegetable swop system to avoid waste.
In the summer we meet in Jacquot Dansie’s shed to swop vegetables, natter and drink wine.
The event is free but you can donate for seeds if you have no veggies to swop.
In the winter it got too cold to hang out in the shed, so we organised a Veg Night. Someone chooses a vegetable and creates amazing dishes then we go to their house or the pub to eat the amazing food and drink more wine.
We also organise silly games like Pass the Sprout or for Potato Night we had a blind crisp-tasting competition.
